Coffee Date- March Madness

Welcome March. Hands down my one of favourite months. Not only are we at the winter home stretch, but it’s my birthday month. Even sweeter, my birthday falls on International Women’s Day. I just love that!

I have seen coffee dates on other blogs, and always said I would write one too. I like the idea of a virtual catch up. So how do you take your Java? One lump or two? Milk or cream? Strong and black? However you’re caffeine-inclined, it’s coffee date time!

If we were having coffee I would tell you I’m off to Pittsburg for March break. I travel with a church band that Andy accompanies on the Steelpan with and every March break we go a nearby U.S city. Nearby meaning we can drive and arrive in the same day.  The band plays in a local church, and we get a tour of the city and enjoy some good eats. Last year we went to NYC. The previous year it was Washingston D.C.

If we were having coffee I would tell you my winter blues were at an all time low this year. I’m not sure if it is because the winter is flying by, or I have been keeping busy. Whatever the reason I’m grateful.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I am on a wine detox until my birthday dinner. I am doing well now, it’s the weekend that concerns me. I “need” a glass by Friday. I will have to find a replacement drink. Maybe sparkling water with lime or Kombucha will do the trick.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I wake up at least twenty minutes earlier everyday to stretch before work. This habit truly invigorates me and increases my energy throughout the day. I stretch my back, hips, neck, quads, glutes and hamstrings. I also meditate by saying 10 positive mantras.

If we were having coffee I would tell you the Housewives are coming! Andy Cohen is finally bringing these shady ladies of his Housewives franchise to Toronto. I’m excited to see what the ladies of the six will be up to. My now local guilty pleasure is to air on March 7th.

Your turn. Pleases don’t make this a one-sided conversation. What would you tell me over coffee?

  1. I would tell you I need more motivation for workouts especially since my mind is in a confused state. I would be thankful of the privileges I have compared to before. I would tell you I like reading your blogs. Like my coffee with chocolate: mocha or cream and sugar!

    1. Vonnie, I pray you find that motivation and a peaceful, calm mind.
I love your blog too, and so happy we connected. I live vicariously through your adventures. That coffee sounds delicious!

  2. A great coffee date!!! I live in Houswives land – it is real every day here so I just can’t watch those shows. It is like going out to the mall & seeing the crap I hate here in southern CA. 🙂

We have got so much rain this year – yes needed – but so little sun & warm weather for us that I actually got that SAD disease due to lack of the sun! 🙂

    Happy birthday month!!!!!

    1. Thanks Jody. I doubt I’ll see any housewives. They are most likely in the rich, trendy areas downtown and I live in the burbs.
I have been watching all the rainfall in southern CA on the news. I hope the California sun shines bright again soon.
      Thank-you! Looking forward to it.

  3. I’m glad to hear you are smiling more this winter 🙂 And yes to the kombucha!! BOOCH is an excellent wine replacement. Put it in a wine glass and it’s almost the same thing!

  4. Great coffee date conversation. I’d probably tell you about the Bachelor madness. That’s my reality show of choice these days since it’s on network TV and I no longer have cable. One of the women in the final 3 is Canadian. Let’s see if he chooses her. She was one of the frontrunners I picked but now I don’t know 🙂

      1. Actually, I just looked it up. She’s from Vancouver, BC. And actually, I misspelled her name – it’s Kaitlyn. Like I said, I could talk Bachelor for days

  5. I hope you had a wonderful birthday! That’s so fun that you travel with a church band. What a fun thing to be a part of!!! I’m glad to hear your winter blues were low this year too. Yay!
March is a busy month for me. We have two March birthdays in our house and then another one the beginning of April. It’s a lot of fun. I love this time of year and love that spring is quickly approaching. YAY!
