We are in full holiday swing here. I have neglected to blog simply because obligations of the season have kept me so busy. Attending functions, hosting functions, shopping and making sure I fit in my gym time have me pooped! I am just going to take it easy this week.
Finally leading up to Christmas day the functions are beginning to slow down a bit, and I have time to blog. In keeping with the spirit, I am going to steal this cute survey from Chels’ blog about all things winter and the holidays.
Do you like the snow?
Well, yes and no.
I live in Canada, so the snow can get pretty intense. I love the snow leading up to Christmas. Looking out my window watching the flakes fall and gently blanket the bare tree branches looks like the quintessential Christmas card or scene from a Dickens play. Especially on Christmas Eve when I am snug and cozy at home in my P.J’s, sipping a hot cocoa and watching Little Women or The Sound of Music.
I get tired of the white stuff come March. By this time I am dreaming of spring and thinking of warmer, longer, greener days. I also suffer from seasonal depression so by February it can get pretty unpleasant for me.
Is winter your favourite season?
Absolutely not! I’m a summer gal all the way.
What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
I would have to say the general spirit of giving. People seem kinder and happier this time of year and there is a buzz and excitement in the air that is just palpable from coffee shops lines, to gas station lines. I also love connecting with family and friends.
Studying the advent and the true meaning of Christmas for me, is also at the top of the list.
What do you want for Christmas?
I have been eyeing some Adidas tights. Isoflex protein powder in chocolate flavour. A new pair of Reebok cross trainers. A gift certificate for a full body massage. Hopefully Andy is reading this post.
Favourite holiday food?
Turkey stuffing. I love my sister’s homemade turkey stuffing with sausage, sage and onions. So good!
How do you decorate and get ready for Christmas?
After American Thanksgiving I begin to take my Christmas bins from the closet. I start with putting up the tree, and then slowly add other decorative pieces throughout my home after the tree has been decorated.
Your turn! Answer all or any questions.
