The Santa Shuffle is almost one day away and I’ve been fighting an irritating cold. I was coughing all night and didn’t get a very sound sleep. I’m so congested, I have to sleep with my head slightly elevated on two pillows. To make matters worse, I failed to get in the final day of training after school on our 5K route. I left work right at 3:30 to get home to rest, as I was feeling a little lethargic and feverish. My remedy for cough and cold is usually drinking a lot of purified water, lemon zinger tea with honey, Vick’s Vapour Rub and plenty of rest. If I really put my sick, stuffy-face on, Andy would probably make me some of his famous chicken soup. I was disappointed to miss the run after work, but I want to be feeling well enough to complete the run on Saturday at the Shuffle. I am so excited, so it would be a true downer if I was too ill to participate.
On the plus side, I can feeling my body fighting the nasty bug, and I am determined to attend. Besides, I can’t miss out. I bought my Santa hat already! Andy thinks I will feel too hot to run in this, but I am in the festive spirit and will be wearing it regardless.
Any cold/cough quick remedies you can suggest?
