So I entered The Santa Shuffle 5K. After some encouraging words and a lot of training after work with Mary, Lisa and Leslie, I finally decided to bite the bullet and register after much hemming and hawing (my dearly departed Auntie’s words for procrastinating.) This is my first 5K. I can’t count the CIBC Weekend to End Breast Cancer some six years ago, because I walked (well, it was more a leisurely constitutional) around Queen’s park. This time though, I shall be lacing up and running, or at least shuffling.
The Santa Shuffle supports the Salvation Army and registration fees will go to a homeless shelter in downtown Toronto. The Salvation Army does such great work to support different needs in the community, so I’m excited to be apart of the shuffle. I can’t wait to get my number and don my Santa hat all for a great cause.
