It is official. Spring has sprung. Goodbye heavy coat, mittens and boots. You are all put in storage now. Please, please Mother Nature don’t send a late Spring snowstorm or I’m knee-deep in trouble. Temperatures have been hovering in the late teens to early twenties. Instead of just lounging around after dinner, Andy and I hopped in the car on a whim and drove to Rotary Park. I love living in Durham, a region just east of the city of Toronto. There are still so many green spaces left, filled with hiking and nature trails to enjoy. From birdwatchers, cyclists, runners, moms pushing strollers, and dog walkers, all were out in the pleasant temperatures, happy to shed those winter layers. Hearing the sound of the lake waves lapping up against the cliff side rocks, and actually hearing birds chirp, gave me an extra pep in my step. I may not be under a Tuscan Sun, but I’m still enjoying being outside and experiencing the promise of a new season.
