I scream, you scream, we all scream for….
You know where I’m going with this. If you’re anything like me you loooove your ice-cream. The richer and creamier the better. I would do anything (will not anything) for a yummy bowl of French Vanilla Hagen Daaz. On a hot day, just lead me to the nearest Dairy Queen for a Peanut Buster Parfait. Heck, I’ll eat that goodness in the Arctic in a blizzard…being chased by a pack of Arctic wolves too, truth be told. Ice-cream, along with white rice has been very hard for me to cut back or stay away from during my path to tigress. It’s so yummy, but oh so decadent, laden with fat, sugar and calories. I try to avoid it all together because one scoop usually leads to a second scoop. Let’s face it, all this scooping just sets me back on my fitness quest. I have tried to substitute my love for ice-cream with frozen yogurt or sorbet, but it is simply not the same. I find that these healthier choices lack the richness and creaminess that makes ice-cream, well, ice-cream. So, wasn’t I delighted to discover Island Way Sorbet at a party this past December. This brand of sorbet is not just 142 calories with only 3.5 grams of fat and low in sodium and lower in sugar than ice-cream, it’s a delicious alternative because it delivers in the creamy richness department. Not only that, it’s pretty too. Each serving comes in it’s own natural shell of fruit flavour. The mango sorbet is served in an actual mango skin. Love, love it!
So if ice-cream is your Achilles heel like myself, give Island Way a try and see what you think. Delicious variety of fruity flavours can be found at your local Costco.
